Our mission

Founded in 2021, Wookala is on a mission to reconnect the world in a generation disrupted by making art appreciation more accessible and affordable. Both for people trying to add new color to their lives and artists seeking international audience, we are building a platform where artistic creations can easily be seen and viewers can be connected.

To accomplish our goal, Wookala takes the first step to provide art subscription service in France. Discovering talented artists based outside of Europe and partnering with them, we offer monthly select graphic arts (painting, drawing, photography, printmaking, and calligraphy) in a limited edition, doorstep delivery service, and hopefully an interactive platform soon.

Meet the Founders

Cheawoon Kim

Chief Executive Officer
Creative and Strategy

Cheawoon is interested in exploring and discovering different cultures and lifestyles. With a background in documentary filmmaking and journalism, she is interested in improving the ecosystem transparent paycheck of artists and finding ways to connect artists with art lovers all around the world. She is currently working for a communication agency in Paris in the Corporate Finance & Accounting team.

Anushka Mathew

Chief Marketing Officer

Anushka, a passionate believer in a global community, aspires to introduce and integrate different traditions, aesthetics, and beliefs of various communities across the globe. With an engineering background, she is always on the look for advances in technology to innovate new business development and marketing strategies with her business skills.

Hung-Ching HSU

Legal and Business Analytics

Hung-Ching enjoys working in a stimulating and face-paced environment and learning new knowledge and skills. With previous experience in the blockchain & cryptocurrency industry, he is passionate about deep tech, sustainability, and lifestyle solutions that improve people’s lives and create an inclusive community.

Wookala team is composed of three Emlyon Business School students, respectively from Korea, India, and Taiwan. Coming from various educational background, including Film TV & Multimedia, Engineering, and Law, before joining B-school, we share a passion for art and entrepreneurship and develop excellent synergy.
